Who are we is a good place to start...

Michael works in Information Technology and Marrisa is a stay at home parent, looking after an energetic daughter who is growing up to be a mini-Kiwi.

Dawes Migration Services was setup as an information source, to assist people moving from all over the world to New Zealand. While our focus is based in the Wellington region, we have contacts all over the country.  

One thing that we would have welcomed on our huge journey was the support of someone in New Zealand, because we too had left all our family and friends in the UK and were alone in the big wide world. To have that someone here to give us information, be honest and tell us what it is really like would have helped us endlessly.

Our main objective is to ensure your transition into your new life is as seamless as possible, providing you with access to resources where necessary. Our services start when you decide to move to New Zealand and continue on after your arrival.

What do we do?

Our primary goal is to provide you with all the information we can regarding your requirements. For example, when you arrive you'll need to have arranged airport collection, property rental or purchases, whiteware rental or purchases etc. We put you directly in touch with the right people who can arrange delivery of any product or service you require.

For example, for a recent customer we put them in touch with a rental car company who made sure a vehicle with child seats etc was at the airport for their arrival. We also located a local real estate agent who met the family at the airport to deliver the keys to their rental property they'd sourced for them.

On top of that, we passed on CV's to relevent recruitment firms who had already lined up interviews for a few days after their arrival, meaning the family had time to take in the sights and culture before getting down to business.

Our service is simple, you need something, we show you where to find it.

Why are we different to other migration services?

Whilst the application forms for residency in various categories may look daunting, they are relatively straight forward. We found out that a 10 minute premium rate phone call to the NZ Immigration department if you have any questions is much cheaper than your typical migration consultant.

We don't work the same as expensive migration consultants who charge you a few grand for filling in your forms - you do that bit yourself (although we can offer some help if you get stuck). We offer a one-off low flat rate that gives you as much information as you need, before, during and after you arrive in the Land of the Long White Cloud.

Your first stop is the NZ Immigration Website. From there you can determine if you have the skills New Zealand requires. Feel free to drop us an email if you are unsure which category you should be applying under and we can usually point you in the right direction.
